Belarusian banks’ aggregate regulatory capital up 23.6 percent in 2022
November 25, BPN. The aggregate regulatory capital of banks operating in Belarus amounted to some 17.21 billion rubels (about $7.1 billion) as of November 1.
That was an increase of 3.28 billion rubels ($1.4 billion) since the start of 2023, the National Bank said.
The aggregate capital increased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month’s level.
Total regulatory capital is one of the most important indicators of banks’ reliability, as it shows their ability to absorb potential financial losses at their own expense without causing any losses to clients.
Regulatory capital includes authorized capital, other funds, additional paid-in capital, retained earnings and other components determined by the National Bank.
