Cichanoŭskaja to participate in NATO, OSCE ministers’ meetings
November 28, BPN. Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja will participate in NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Bucharest, her aide Franak Viačorka has told BPN.
On November 27, Cichanoŭskaja began a three-day official visit to Romania on the invitation of its Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.
She is expected to participate in the Munich Leaders’ Meeting, hosted by Romania, where NATO foreign ministers will meet on November 29-30.
Foreign ministers of Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine also plan attending the event to discuss support for Ukraine.
Cichanoŭskaja will then travel to Łódź, Poland, where she will address the annual Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) ministerial meeting on December 1. A discussion on Belarus, initiated by the United States and Estonia, will take place, Viačorka said.
Belarusian Foreign Minister Uładzimir Makiej was expected there as well, but he died on November 26. It remains unclear who will replace him.
