Łukašenka announces upcoming meeting with Putin again
November 28, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has made another announcement of his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin as he received Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of Russia’s Primorsky Krai.
The meeting would focus on “bureaucratic issues that hamper import substitution,” he said, as quoted by his press office.
The Belarusian strongman said the progress in import substitution was extremely important: “This year has already shown us that we can make it. It just takes us a little time.”
On October 31, Łukašenka said that he would meet Putin soon, but the Russian president’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov did not confirm any dates.
Łukašenka and Putin briefly met at the November 23 summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Armenia’s Yerevan.
They had a more substantial discussion at the September 26 bilateral meeting in Sochi.
