Economy ministry sets $820 average pay target for 2023
November 30, BPN. An increase in Belarusian exports will push up average pay closer to 2,000 rubels (about $820) in 2023, Juryj Čabatar, first deputy economy minister, told journalists from state-run media outlets.
This and efforts to curb inflation will contribute to a rise of four percent in people’s real income, he added.
“We plan a 5.5 percent exports growth (or $2.6 billion),” the press office of the economy ministry quoted him as saying.
Major markets for Belarusian exports include countries of the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union, Russia, Asia and China in particular, Čabatar said. Belarus will try to keep its presence in other markets, he added.
The National Statistical Committee (Belstat) reported nominal average pay of 1,636 rubels (about $660) in October. It remained almost at the same level as in September.
