December 17, BPN. The Belarusian economy contracted by 4.7 percent in January-November 2022 against the same period in 2021 amid international sanctions.
“GDP amounted to 175.1 billion rubels at current prices [some $68.6bn],” statistics committee Belstat said on December 16.
GDP rose by 2.3 percent in 2021.
In July, Alaksandr Łukašenka demanded that it should be maintained at last year’s level. The government projected it increase by 2.9 percent in 2022.
