Łukašenka extends visa waiver program

December 21, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has extended Belarus’ visa waiver program for Lithuanians, Latvians and Poles beyond 2022.

Łukašenka-affiliated Telegram channel Pul Pervogo reported that this decision was taken “in confirmation of our country’s openness, focus on good neighborliness and better interethnic relations.”

It said that 370,000 EU nationals have visited Belarus under the program: Lithuanians, 70 percent; Latvians, 20 percent; Poles, 10 percent.

The program opened to Lithuanians and Latvians in April 2022, and to Poles on July 1. It was to expire at the end of 2022.
