Health ministry prohibits doctors from contacting pharma representatives

December 28, BPN. The Ministry of Health has temporarily prohibited physicians from establishing any direct contact with representatives of foreign pharmaceutical companies pending new anti-corruption measures.

Belarusian authorities also banned all educational events involving foreign companies except for those organized by the health ministry.

On December 27, the Prosecutor General’s Office accused foreign pharmaceutical companies of paying doctors to give lectures. It also charged that physicians were paid for suggesting their patients certain foreign-made drugs.
