Parliamentary groups’ leaders wish Belarusians freedom
January 6, BPN. The leaders of several parliamentary groups For Democratic Belarus have issued New Year and Christmas greetings in support of the Belarusians, opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja’s press office reported on January 5.
These groups operate in 13 national parliaments, it said. It quoted Swedish MP Camilla Hansén as saying: “Let us start the new year of 2023 with the hope of freedom, democracy, free and democratic Belarus and peace!”
“I believe that 2023 will be the year of truth and victory over evil as well as over the old KGB regime in Moscow, which killed millions of Belarusians, Ukrainians, Lithuanians and Russians,” Lithuanian MP Žygimantas Pavilionis said.
“I believe that the free and wonderful people of Belarus will continue to fight for its future and put an end to the occupation of Belarus by Łukašenka and his regime,” Georgian MP Khatia Dekanoidze said.
