Armenia’s prime minister rules out his country’s membership in Union State

January 10, BPN. Armenia has not received any official invitation to join the Union State of Belarus and Russia and there cannot be any, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has told journalists on January 10.

Armenia’s sovereignty, independence and statehood are an absolute value, news.am cited him as saying.

In late December, Armen Grigoryan, Armenia’s senior security official, told journalists that the Union State violated the sovereignty of its members.

In February 2022, the Armenian foreign ministry summoned the Belarusian envoy over Alaksandr Łukašenka’s claim that Armenia had no future outside the Union State.
