Two Belarusians missing after Turkey earthquake – foreign ministry
February 7, BPN. The Belarusian embassy in Ankara could not get in touch with two Belarusians following the earthquake in Turkey, the foreign ministry’s press office reported.
The embassy is in contact with their families in Belarus and Turkish authorities, it added.
Earlier, reports said that Belarusian national Alaksandra Akpinar, her Turkish husband and a little child, residents in Turkey’s Hatay province hit by the earthquake, were missing.
On February 6, a series of powerful earthquakes with aftershocks hit Turkey and Syria, with over 4,300 people killed and more than 15,000 injured.
The European Union, the UK, USA and other countries and international organizations have already announced relief measures for Turkey and Syria.
Emergency ministries of Belarus and Russia said that they would send their teams to Turkey.
