Belarus, Russia sign industrial policy deal
February 15, BPN. Minsk and Moscow have signed an industrial policy agreement.
The deal was closed in Moscow on February 15 by Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parchomčyk and his Russian counterpart Denis Manturov, minister of industry and trade.
The press office of the Russian government described the agreement as a part of 2021-23 efforts to implement the Union State Treaty.
“It is strategic to deepen industrial and economic integration between Russia and Belarus in the face of the sanctions pressure from unfriendly countries,” Manturov said. “The signed agreement will allow us to achieve our goals by reducing mutual barriers, synchronizing the concept of scientific and technical programs for import substitution, and engaging companies from the two countries in the implementation of industrial projects, and in many other ways.”
“Today, Russian and Belarusian companies have an additional incentive to increase trade, exchange competencies and jointly enter third country markets with highly competitive products,” he added.
The delegations also discussed “the import substitution process in agricultural engineering, automotive and electronic industries, pharmaceuticals and other industries.”
