Israeli embassy resumes work in Minsk
March 28, BPN. The Embassy of Israel in Belarus will resume its work on March 28, it said on Facebook.
The embassy suspended operation on March 27 due to a nationwide strike in Israel initiated by the trade union umbrella group Histadrut.
For months, thousands of Israelis have been protesting against judicial reforms proposed by the government of Benjamin Netanyahu. The overhaul would give the parties in power more control over the country’s judiciary, media reported.
Israeli embassies in several other countries, healthcare workers, teachers, banks, universities, stores, restaurants, some officials, as well as employees at the major Ben-Gurion Airport and the ports in Haifa and Ashdod, joined the general strike.
