Reservists’ rifle battalion formed during drill in Minsk region

March 28, BPN. The military is setting up a headquarters and a rifle battalion of reservists in the Barysaŭ district, as part of a comprehensive inspection of the Minsk region’s territorial defense bodies.

“We shall form the Barysaŭ district’s headquarters and separate rifle battalion,” said Dźmitryj Valfovič, a territorial defense official at the Minsk region’s military enlistment office.

“The inspection would involve coordination of units,” he said, as quoted by the defense ministry’s press office. Reservists would undergo individual training and practice coordination of units and platoons. The final stage would include headquarters staff training.

The trainees would guard and protect a territorial defense facility, perform duties at a checkpoint, and implement measures “to maintain martial law.”
