Łukašenka extends crypto tax breaks

March 28, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has signed an edict extending crypto tax breaks until January 1, 2025.

The edict also provides for drafting a concept of the development of Belarus’ digital tokens sphere, Łukašenka’s press office reported.

It said the tax preferences had been stipulated by the 2017 decree on the digital economy.

It provided the legal framework for cryptocurrency turnover by residents of Belarus’ High Tech Park, allowing them to create and circulate their tokens.

It also gave individuals the right to mine cryptocurrencies, own tokens, and convert digital assets into Belarusian rubels and foreign currencies.

Under the decree, proceeds and revenues from cryptocurrency operations are deducted from the tax base, and trading in tokens is not subject to declaration.
