Defendant in police car bombing case gets 15 years in prison

April 1, BPN. A district court sentenced Maksim Sielaźnioŭ, a defendant in a police car bombing case, to 15 years in prison, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.

The decision was made by Judge Dźmitryj Karsiuk on March 31.

The car was reportedly attacked in the night from January 7 to January 8, 2022, near Minsk’s Centralny district police department.

Sielaźnioŭ was convicted of illegal handling of firearms and an act of terrorism.

As part of the same case, law enforcers also arrested Dźmitryj Marcinievič for failing to report the crime.
