Belarusian air/ air defense forces hold joint staff training

April 4, BPN. The Air Force and Air Defense Forces are holding a joint staff training between April 4 and 6, the defense ministry’s press office reported.

The drill will focus on “planning the use of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces in the activities of the joint regional group of forces,” it noted.

On April 3, an inspection of combat readiness began in the Belarusian Armed Forces. On the same day, one of its units started “a full range of measures related to the transition of the unit from peacetime to wartime,” Belarusian Security Council head Alaksandr Valfovič said.

The drills and checks come amid Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, in which the Belarusian leadership supports the Kremlin, and amid Minsk’s increasingly militaristic rhetoric towards Western countries.
