NATO Secretary-General warns Minsk against entry into war on Ukraine

April 5, BPN. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg once again warned the Belarusian authorities against direct involvement in hostilities against Ukraine after a meeting of the bloc’s foreign ministers in Brussels on April 5.

“Belarus has been and continues to be a platform, which Russia uses in its aggressive actions against Ukraine. They launched part of their invasion from Belarus, and they have launched several airstrikes from Belarus. Our message to Belarus is, of course, that they should not be directly involved. And we would continue to provide Ukraine with the support they need to fight against aggression and to win this war,” Stoltenberg told a press conference.

Speaking in Brussels on April 3, Stoltenberg noted that Vladimir Putin’s announcement of the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus was intended to hinder assistance to Ukraine from the North Atlantic Alliance and its partners.
