Foreign trade down in January-February – Belstat

April 11, BPN. Belarus’ foreign trade in goods amounted to about $13 billion with imports exceeding exports by $439.3 million in the first two months of 2023, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said.

On March 10, Alaksandr Łukašenka said that Belarus has not yet fully compensated for all losses from Western sanctions despite redirecting about 80 percent of its exports to countries it considers friendly. 

In 2022, foreign trade fell by six percent and amounted to $76.9 billion, with exports at $38.3 billion (-4.2 percent) and imports at $38.6 billion (-7.6 percent).
