Officials declare 2017 collection of poems extremist

April 18, BPN. At the request of Minsk’s prosecutors, officials declared Siarhiej Siuzieŭ’s poetry book “Twenty Years of Slavery: Belarus Today” extremist.

The Prosecutor’s Office in Minsk said several other books by Siuzieŭ were also blacklisted, without naming them.

The 154-page-long book was published in 2017. It focuses on Belarusians’ life under Łukašenka, Siuzieŭ said in the description.

In an earlier work, he criticized and insulted the Ukrainian nation over the conflict in Donbas.

Siuzieŭ reportedly left Belarus in 2007.
