KGB puts jailed dissident on terrorism list
April 20, BPN. The Committee for State Security (KGB) has updated the list of persons it says are involved in terrorism, targeting Viktar Savaševič, 43, widely regarded as a political prisoner.
In January, the Minsk City Court found Savaševič guilty of incitement to hatred and complicity in crime.
Authorities accused him of launching and running the 23.34 Telegram channel writing about Belarusian judges. He was sentenced to 11 years’ imprisonment in a closed-door trial.
The list comprises the names of 1,047 “terrorists.” Over 290 of them are Belarusian nationals.
