Authorities blacklist 25 over alleged extremist activities

June 30, BPN. Belarusian authorities have blacklisted 25 more people as extremists, taking their total to 2,992.

The additions include student Alina Koval persecuted for allegedly insulting Alaksandr Łukašenka and Taćciana Kurylina, sentenced to four and a half years in prison for running opposition chats.

Jailed journalist Hienadź Mažejka, currently serving a three-year prison term in a politically motivated case, is also on the list. On June 29, the Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) included him in its terrorist register.

Maksim Selaźnioŭ and Dźmitryj Marcinkievič, tried in connection with an alleged attack on a police vehicle as well as Ukrainian Pavel Kupryenko and Belarusians Taras Mačynski and Dźmitryj Sałaviančyk, defendants in a spying and high treason case, have been also branded extremists.
