Dollar soars at currency exchanges in H1 2023

July 1, BPN. The average cash exchange rate for the US dollar rose 11.64 percent in the first six months of 2023, reaching 3.0166 Belarusian rubels in June, according to an analysis of bank quotes by BPN.

The dollar fluctuated against the rubel throughout the year, dropping 1.69 percent in January before climbing 4.61 percent in February, 1.81 percent in March, 1.48 percent in April, 0.81 percent in May and 4.23 percent in June.

The analysis showed that the average buying rate for the dollar increased 4.2 percent in June, while the average selling rate rose 4.25 percent.

The dollar appreciated 5.93 percent against the rubel at currency exchanges in 2022.
