Belarus, Nicaragua sign visa-free travel agreement

July 21, BPN. Belarusian Foreign Minister Siarhiej Alejnik and his Nicaraguan counterpart Denis Moncada Colindres have signed an agreement to abolish visa requirements between the two countries, the Belarusian foreign ministry reports.

Visiting Nicaragua, Alejnik also signed a deal to establish a joint trade commission and a road map for cooperation in agriculture.

Two months ago, Alejnik and Moncada Colindres met in Minsk and expressed their shared foreign policy principles and approaches, such as equality, mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.

Nicaragua, a staunch ally of Belarus and Russia at the international stage, often rejects UN resolutions that criticize their policies.

Alaksandar Łukašenka authorized negotiation on the visa agreement earlier this week.
