Belarusian opposition politician visits Kyiv to discuss media policy

July 26, BPN. A close ally of opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has visited Kyiv to discuss Ukrainian television channels’ coverage of Belarusian developments and possible joint TV projects, Cichanoŭskaja’s cabinet reported today.

Alina Koŭšyk met with Yevhen Hlibovyćkyi, a member of the supervisory board of Suspilne, Ukraine’s public broadcaster, and Oleksandr Makabrij, a senior information official. She also attended an expert meeting on information policy and countering propaganda.

The Belarusian politician also met with parliamentarians, historians and educators, and participated in a discussion on cultural and informational cooperation between Belarusian democratic forces and Ukraine.
