December 27, Pozirk. Two Belarusian officials have been appointed to the Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EAEC) board, its press office reports.
Maksim Jermalovič, deputy head of Alaksandar Łukašenka’s administration, will serve as EAEC minister for competition and antimonopoly regulation. Valancin Tatarycki, head of the Belarusian Standardization Committee, will be in charge of technical regulation.
The appointments take effect on February 1, 2024, when Michaił Miasnikovič, a Belarusian, turns over the EAEC board chairmanship to Kazakhstan’s Bakytzhan Sagintaev.
The EAEC is a permanent regulatory agency of the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union.
