Russian court throws out Belarusian worker’s terrorism case appeal

January 15, Pozirk. The Omsk Provincial Court has rejected Belarusian national Siarhiej Jeramiejeŭ’s appeal against his arrest, the press office of the province’s judiciary reported.
Authorities charged Jeramiejeŭ with violating Article 205 Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code (terrorist acts) and took him into custody for allegedly disrupting military deliveries from North Korea.
Tank cars with fuel and lubricants blazed as two trains carrying oil products from Tayshet to Tynda and Neryungri along the Baikal–Amur Mainline were bombed on November 29 and 30. The attack temporarily blocked transportation there.
Jeramiejeŭ has pleaded guilty and confessed to cooperating with Ukrainian security services, the Russian Federal Security Service said.
Previously, he was an instrument technician at the Naftan company in Navapołack.
Belarusian Committee for State Security agents arrested about 20 people in Połack and Navapołack, Viciebsk region, after the attack, a source told Pozirk.
