January 24, Pozirk. Police arrested Aksana Jučkovič, a former journalist with the official website of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, catholic.by, on January 23, Chryścijanskaja Vizija reported.
The woman is known as a prominent Minsk Catholic community member and event organizer. Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for her arrest.
Jučkovič used to teach Polish at one of the Minsk language schools. In November 2020, she spent nine days in jail in connection with postelection protests.
At least 34 media workers are held behind bars in Belarus, according to the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
