Government annuls export duties on oil products

February 2, Pozirk. The Council of Ministers annulled duties on oil and petroleum products exported to countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union, says its Directive No 73 published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
Since the start of 2024, authorities have not collected export duties on crude oil, fuel oil, bitumen, petroleum bitumen, petroleum jelly and paraffin, waste oil products, gasoline, diesel fuel, light and middle distillates, benzene, toluene, xylenes and lubricating oils.
The remaining export duties annulled on February 1 include liquefied hydrocarbon gases, ethane, butane and isobutane.
Before December 2023, the government raised export duty rates for four consecutive months, up to 69 percent.
Last year, export duty rates increased almost two-fold in December from their minimum values recorded in February, according to Pozirk’s analysis of statistical data.
The rates depend on the market price of oil. Belarusian duties are equivalent to Russian ones, which were annulled on January 25.
