Russian Orthodox Church says “all Eastern Slavs” are Russians

March 28, Pozirk. Russia should return to the 300-year-old doctrine that sees Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians as a ”triune” Russian nation, says a document adopted by the Russian Orthodox Church’s 25th World Russian People’s Council.
Researchers should accept and promote the doctrine, which should be also given legislative recognition and become an integral part of Russian law, it noted.
The concept of “Russian” should include “all Eastern Slavs,” it stressed.
The document describes Russia’s war on Ukraine as “a new stage in the national liberation struggle of the Russian people against the criminal Kyiv regime and the collective West behind it,” claiming that “the entire territory of modern Ukraine should enter the zone of Russia’s exclusive influence.”
The World Russian People’s Council met in Moscow under the chairmanship of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Ruś on March 27.
