Poland’s apple exports to Belarus soar in April

May 6, Pozirk. Belarus accounted for 31 percent of Poland’s apple exports outside the European Union last month, as sales soared to 8,841 tons after 1,500 tons reported in March, Polish Sad24 reports.
Belarus was the main buyer of Polish apples outside the EU, ranking ahead of Kazakhstan (7,691 tons), Egypt (2,235 tons), India (1,354 tons) and Mongolia (1,162 tons).
The surge follows the expiration of a three-month licensing requirement in Belarus covering imports of certain goods, including apples, allowing Belarusian companies to re-export Polish apples without any limitations since mid-April.
In the first quarter of 2025, apple prices rose by 26 percent in Belarus, leading the price growth among seasonal goods, according to the National Statistics Committee. On May 1, the government reportedly lifted price controls on apples among other goods.
