Supreme Court brands opposition cabinet a terror group

July 9, Pozirk. Belarus’ Supreme Court has designated the United Transitional Cabinet (UTC) headed by opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja as a “terrorist organization,” prohibiting its activities in the country.
Prosecutor General Andrej Švied’s, which filed the request, said, “The evidence presented to the court allowed it to conclude that the actions of the organizers and active participants in the so-called Cabinet contained elements of terrorist activity.” It also claimed that “members of the group directly participated in organizing acts of terrorism in Belarus.”
Any involvement in the group, including funding, training, or recruiting new members, entails criminal prosecution, the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
