Biełhidramiet issues red alert for eastern Belarus for January 9

January 8, Pozirk. Biełhidramiet has issued a red alert for the eastern Homiel and Mahiloŭ regions for January 9, expecting extremely heavy snow in southeastern Belarus. An orange alert is in place for Brest, Viciebsk and Minsk regions, and a yellow alert for the Hrodna region.

Blizzards, wind gusts of up to 20 meters per second during the day and up to 24 m/sec at night are expected.

The weather agency had issued an orange alert for today.
