BelPol intelligence group casts doubt on Oreshnik’s presence in Belarus

January 11, Pozirk. The BelPol intelligence group has questioned the Belarusian government’s claim that Russia deployed the Oreshnik hypersonic missile system in Belarus, citing information from several sources in the country’s defense ministry.
The statement comes days after Minsk released a 35-second video of what it called Russia’s Oreshnik missile system on combat patrol duty somewhere in Belarus.
BelPol, which is run by exiled Belarusians, dismissed the video as a staged show.
“There is absolutely no proof that the video was not shot in the Russian Federation,” it said.
The video shows only a security vehicle, a support vehicle and possibly a battery command post, but it does not show the key elements of the Oreshnik, such as mobile launchers, BelPol stressed.
The Oreshnik system standard convoy is composed of many support and security vehicles and should be 400 to 650 meters long, the group said, noting that it would be easy to see on satellite images or “with the help of other intelligence tools.”
BelPol doubts that Belarus has already built the necessary infrastructure for stationing the Oreshnik.
