April 27, Pozirk. Strong winds that swept across Belarus yesterday toppled dozens of trees and damaged at least nine cars, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
A total of eight vehicles were damaged in Minsk and the Hrodna regions, and one in the Brest region.
The weather station in Vaŭkavysk, Hrodna region, recorded wind gusts of up to 24 m/s. Bad weather affected two settlements in the Brest region, five in the Hrodna region and one in the Minsk region, damaging the roofs of residential buildings, public facilities and farms.
Strong gusty winds this morning hampered firefighters’ efforts to extinguish a large open-area fire in Minsk.
