Over half of families say financial situation worsened

September 12, BPN. A staggering 51 percent of Belarusian families feel that their financial situation has deteriorated over the past year, an online poll by BEROC suggests.

The survey of some 1,000 Belarusian city dwellers was conducted in August, analyst Aleś Hančaronak said on September 12.

Still, the share of families with deteriorating finances has decreased as compared with the previous survey in April, when 54 percent of respondents subscribed to this view, he said.

The fresh study shows that Belarusians are now less pessimistic about their families’ financial situation: some 32 percent are confident that wealth will keep falling, against 40 percent in April; better well-being is expected by 19 percent, against 15 percent during the previous poll.
