Opposition politician, Lithuanian deputy foreign minister discuss pressure on Łukašenka
September 18, BPN. The Belarusian opposition’s Joint Transition Cabinet member Pavieł Łatuška and Lithuanian Deputy Foreign Minister Mantas Adomėnas discussed “increased pressure on the Łukašenka regime” at a meeting in Vilnius, Łatuška’s Telegram channel said on September 17.
Pressure could be mounted by prosecuting officials based on universal jurisdiction, as well as through investigations relating to the forced landing of a Ryanair passenger aircraft in Minsk and to “hybrid warfare” involving illegal migrants on the EU border, it said.
The meeting participants agreed to “analyze the effectiveness of economic sanctions and the regime’s ways to circumvent them,” it added
Łatuška told Adomėnas about the Belarusian democratic forces’ efforts to support Ukraine’s struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
