Daughter of prominent educator, her husband arrested upon return to Belarus

January 3, BPN. Police arrested Hanna Liviant and her husband after their return from Poland.

Hanna Liviant is the daughter of Jaŭhien Liviant, a renowned teacher and co-founder of the 100 Ballov education center, arrested in late December.

In a video disseminated by pro-government sources, she admitted to participating in 2020 protests, subscribing to and sharing content with opposition Telegram channels.

Her husband also admitted to participating in protests and relocating to Poland later.

Law enforcers forced Jaŭhien Liviant to state his annual income, real estate and other properties in a similar video following his arrest.

He also said he attended one meeting of the Coordinating Council for Political Crisis Settlement in Belarus in 2020 and blocked traffic during post-election protests.
