Poland accepts 69,000 Belarusian immigrants, foundation says

January 7, BPN. Some 69,000 Belarusian nationals were living in Poland with the proper permits as of November 30, the Warsaw-based Center for Belarusian Solidarity (CBS) has said, quoting Polish migration authorities.

Poland has recorded two waves of Belarusian immigrants, the foundation said: one “after the rigged election of 2020” and another one “after the start of Russian aggression in Ukraine.”

Some 5,500 Belarusians specifically asked Poland for international protection from August 9, 2020 to November 30, 2022.

Last December, the CBS said it had documented frequent denials of humanitarian visas to Belarusians submitting their applications in Poland.
