Ukraine protests against mercenaries recruitment story
January 17, BPN. The Ukrainian embassy in Minsk has protested to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the Belarus 1 television channel aired a story accusing the diplomatic mission of recruiting mercenaries for the war in Ukraine, Ambassador Ihor Kyzym has said on Facebook.
“We can clearly see another burst of anti-Ukrainian hysteria on the leading state channel of Belarusian television and the search for the so-called ‘compromising’ materials for provocation against the embassy and its staff,” he said.
In the post, he reminded propagandists that Russian conscripts train at Belarusian training grounds while Ukrainians suffer from Russian attacks. He went on to ask why the media was silent about the recent deadly missile attack on an apartment building in Dnipro.
“I’ll try to answer that. You have to be an honest journalist, not a corrupt ‘propagandist’ on the payroll of your Russian handlers,” Kyzym noted.
