KGB declares local news website extremist

January 31, BPN. The Committee for State Security (KGB) declared the local news website Volkovysk.by and its followers an extremist group on January 24, the interior ministry says on its website.

The KGB named two “members” of the group, a certain A.A. Zajcaŭ, born in 1971, and a certain A. V. Taranciej, born in 1986.

Volkovysk.by says it is run by a team of volunteers and focuses on Vaŭkavysk’s people, history and nature.

It has some 2,300 subscribers on Telegram and 1,100 subscribers on Facebook.
