Belarus’ economy grows by 3.8 percent in January-October – official

November 15, Pozirk. Almost all sectors of the Belarusian economy are recovering, Economy Minister Alaksandar Čarviakoŭ has told journalists following the Council of Ministers meeting.
The projected economic growth of 3.8 percent was reached ahead of schedule in ten months, he said, citing preliminary data.
The official linked the recovery to “the mobilization of existing reserves.”
“We have fully offset losses in foreign markets,” the government’s press office quoted him as saying. “Overall, the economy is developing steadily and sustainably. We will maintain this level [until the end of the year].”
The government had projected growth of 3.8 percent for 2023.
In the first nine months, gross domestic product grew by 3.5 percent, with an 8.1-percent upturn reported in industry and a 0.2-percent decline in agriculture, according to official statisticians.
