Graduates from military-patriotic classes to be admitted to military schools without exams

March 26, Pozirk. High school graduates who attended military-patriotic classes can enter universities without entrance exams if they intend to continue military education, says the Council of Ministers’ Directive No 197 dated March 21.
Military Academy, Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and the military-technical faculty of Belarusian National Technical University participate in the program.
About 4,000 high school students are enrolled in military-patriotic classes that were founded in 2015, according to the education ministry.
Schools may offer them advanced-level instruction in two subjects, including mathematics and physics, chemistry and biology, chemistry and mathematics, social studies and foreign language, geography and mathematics, or physical education and biology.
The elective military-oriented courses “Ready to Serve the Motherland!” or “Young Border Guard” are compulsory for such students.
High school graduates with pedagogical, engineering, agricultural and sports specializations are admitted without entry examinations to universities with the same specializations, the directive says.
