Rubel hits another low against US dollar at BCSE

November 26, Pozirk. The rubel has depreciated to 3.4725 against the US dollar at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE), plunging for the tenth consecutive trading session.
The Belarusian currency also fell to 3.6528 per euro and 4.8072 per 10 Chinese yuan but climbed to 3.3295 per 100 Russian rubles.
Last week (November 18–22), the rubel lost 1.39 percent of its value against the dollar, 0.64 percent against the euro and 1.21 percent against the Chinese yuan but gained 0.69 percent against the Russian ruble.
The Belarusian currency lost 4.44 percent of its value against the dollar in the first 10 months of 2024.
Last week, economist Anatol Charytončyk played down fears of rubel depreciation, noting that the rubel did not weaken considerably against the central bank’s basket of currencies, which includes the Russian ruble (60 percent), the US dollar (30 percent) and the Chinese yuan (10 percent).
