Belarusian rubel weakens by 22 percent against US dollar since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

February 25, Pozirk. The Belarusian rubel lost 22 percent of its value against the US dollar in the three years since the start of Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine in which officials in Minsk support the Kremlin.
The rubel dropped from 2.6419 to 3.2239 against the greenback. It also lost 9.6 percent of its value against the Russian currency, according to Pozirk‘s analysis of exchange rates.
In 2022, the Belarusian rubel lost 5.9 percent of its value against the dollar and 16 percent in the second year of the war but gained 0.7 percent on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian hryvnia has plunged 42.6 percent against the dollar since February 2022. The Polish złoty gained 0.3 percent against the dollar, while the euro weakened by 8.4 percent.
