Cichanoŭskaja calls for vigilance ahead of Zapad-2025

May 23, Pozirk. Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has called on Europe to be vigilant about the Zapad-2025 military exercise planned for this fall and not to underestimate its threat.
Vladimir Putin has enough resources to open a new front and Europe should rearm and prepare, Cichanoŭskaja said at Civitas University in Warsaw, her press office reported.
“The war was a blessing for Łukašenka. When it started, all attention shifted from Belarus to Ukraine.
“Moreover, he continues to profit from it. More than 280 Belarusian state-owned enterprises supply products to the Russian military. The dictators help each other to circumvent sanctions and support each other in the international arena.
“Łukašenka’s very survival depends on Putin’s support, while inside Belarus his support is meager. He trades the sovereignty of Belarus for Putin’s financial and political backing and destroys everything that connects Belarusians with Europe, isolating our people from the rest of Europe,” Cichanoŭskaja stated.
According to the Belarusian opposition leader, Alaksandar Łukašenka and Vladimir Putin want the war to continue as long as possible, as it fuels their regimes and justifies repression. So there is no way to force them to stop the war and terror without applying considerable pressure, she concluded.
