Russia supplies Mi-35M combat helicopters to Belarus

May 30, Pozirk. Russia has delivered new Mi-35M transport and combat helicopters to the military air base in Mačulišcy near Minsk, the defense ministry said, citing Siarhiej Frałoŭ, first deputy air/air defense commander. The helicopters will “soon go on combat duty,” it said without specifying the number.
“We must adequately respond to all global challenges and threats but arms race is not our task. Our task is competent, careful planning of rearmament and adequate response to all challenges and threats,” the official said.
The Mi-35M is an improved version of the Mi-24 attack helicopter said to be able to perform a wide range of tasks, including attacks on personnel and equipment, fire support, landings, evacuations, reconnaissance and cargo transportation. The helicopter’s design allows all-season, all-weather and round-the-clock use.
