Farmer fined for “unauthorized” Slavic holiday
August 19, BPN. In the Pinsk district, Brest region, a farmer has been fined 1,600 rubels (some $630) for organizing an “unauthorized Kupala Night celebration,” the Viasna Human Rights center reports.
Locals celebrated the traditional Slavic holiday near a café in the night from July 6 to July 7.
They drew the attention of Pinsk police, who recorded the crime of unauthorized organization.
