Łukašenka slams Scholz for disclosing Putin’s Ukraine, Belarus submission remarks

August 26, BPN. During a visit to a mechanical plant in Minsk on August 26, Alaksandr Łukašenka said it was “impermissible” for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to reveal details of his conversation with Vladimir Putin.

According to his press office, he called Scholz a “kid [Rus.: patsan] who does not understand and does not want to understand anything about politics.” In his opinion, Scholz should have asked for Putin’s permission to discuss this topic in public.

On August 21, DW quoted Scholz as saying that Putin started the war in Ukraine “clearly with the intention of conquering its neighboring country.”

According to the German chancellor, during negotiations before the February invasion, he assured Putin that Ukraine will not join NATO “in the next 30 years,” but the Russian leader’s ideas were “completely absurd.” Putin supposedly told Scholz that Belarus and Ukraine should not be independent.
