Content of lawyers’, miners’, anarchists’ communities declared “extremist”
August 30, BPN. The Partyzanski District Court in Minsk declared Bielaruskija Advakaty, a community of lawyers in the Telegram messenger application, “extremist” content.
The information ministry added a corresponding entry to its black list on August 25.
Last week, authorities blacklisted Vadim Shylko, private TikTok and Odnoklassniki accounts; My – Shakhtery, a Salihorsk miners’ Telegram chat; and a2day.org, a website of anarchists.
On August 19, a court in the Hrodna region declared “extremist” the content of the Vejšnoryja community, including its Telegram channel and social media accounts.
“Vejšnoryja” is the name that the Belarusian defense ministry used to refer to a fake separatist state in western Belarus, a hypothetical enemy during the 2017 Belarusian-Russian military drills. Some opposition activists use the name to refer to a better Belarus.
