National Bank reports foreign trade surplus

September 10, BPN. Belarus’ foreign trade surplus reached $2.8 billion in the first seven months of 2022, rising by $691.4 million year on year, the National Bank of Belarus reported.

It noted that from January 1 to July 31, Belarus’ exports amounted to $25.2 billion and imports, to $22.4 billion.

On August 19, Prime Minister Roman Haloŭčanka said that Belarus’ exports to the European Union dropped by almost a third. At the same time, he boasted that exports to Russia had hit a record high of $2 billion in June.

He also anticipates a record foreign trade surplus at the end of 2022.
